Liverpool Winger Harry Wilson Reportedly Picks Hull City

The 20-year-old Wales and Liverpool man is said to have picked Hull over Wigan.

Early in the day, Liverpool U23 winger Harry Wilson seemed all set to move to League One high flyers Wigan Athletic as they looked to strengthen and ensure their place at the top of England’s third tier. It didn’t take long, though, for competition to emerge.

With the close of the transfer window drawing near, news emerged that Hull City also wanted to sign Wilson after failing to land their top attacking target—and that they were willing to commit to giving Wilson plenty of playing time in the Championship.

It appears to have done the trick, with Wilson reportedly preferring Hull to Wigan and now all but certain to head there—where he will be involved in a relegation dogfight, six clubs within three points of each other fighting not to finish bottom three.

It is further being reported that Wilson will now sign a new Liverpool deal before departing for Hull, something the club had previously made a requirement to sending him out on loan but which appeared as though it might not happen in the end.

This all adds up to good news for both Liverpool and Wilson, who has been in fine form with the U23s but needs first team minutes somewhere as he looks to get his career back on track after struggling with injuries in recent seasons.
