Official: Harry Wilson Joins Hull City on Loan

But the Welshman signed a new contract with the Reds before leaving.

The recent rumours have proven true, and Liverpool’s last move of the 2018 January transfer window has been to send Harry Wilson on loan to Championship relegation battlers Hull City. The Welsh international will join former teammate Kevin Stewart at the Tigers for the remainder of the season, having preferred them to Wigan.

Before allowing Wilson to leave, though, Liverpool ensured the youngster signed a new long-term deal with the Reds. The 20-year old and his parent club will hope this loan goes better than his 2015/16 stint with Crewe Alexandra, which was cut short after Wilson only managed 259 minutes in 5 months. Reportedly, a commitment from Hull to give the wide man plenty of first team playing time is included in the deal.

Wilson becomes the fourth Liverpool player to leave on loan on deadline day, following Ovie Ejaria, Jon Flanagan and Lazar Markovic’s moves to Sunderland, Bolton and Anderlecht, respectively.
