The Liverpool gaffer is just trying to survive December. He’ll worry about missing Mo when we get there.

I love when Klopp is at his most relatable. And his recent statement about Mohamed Salah’s upcoming absence, which can be boiled down to “FFS I’m just trying to survive December,” is extremely relatable.

“No, I didn’t think about it to be honest and I can’t change it anyway,” Kloppo said in his pre-match presser. “I have no real plans for it. It’s January, right? I hope Diogo is back then.

“December is a really tricky month. You’re happy when you get through it and then you start thinking about all the rest. We cannot avoid it anyway.”

As for the upcoming FA Cup tie against Arsenal, Klopp does not know whether or not Mo can participate yet.

“Whatever I can say, if Egypt and Mo decide he has to go on the second, third, or fourth of January. I’m pretty sure Mo wants to play the game but I’m not sure we can make that decision.”

Salah will miss at most 8 matches, if Egypt and Liverpool advance far in their respective cups: 4 league matches, 2 FA Cup rounds, and a two-legged League Cup semifinal.

There’s little doubt that Liverpool will miss Salah. His form this season has been nothing short of incredible; the 31 year old Egyptian King is currently on 13 goals and 6 assists across all competitions so far.

The Reds will also have a few tricky league fixtures, especially if they’re still in contention for the league title. They play away to Bournemouth, home to Chelsea, away to Arsenal, and home to Burnley.

That said, Liverpool also have one of the most dangerous and dynamic attacks, even without Salah. If Jota, Gakpo, Diaz, and Nunez stay fit, they should be able to navigate those fixtures, but the team will have to be at their best to make due without one of the best players in the world.
