Naby Keita Invited To Kiev By Klopp

The RB Leipzig midfielder isn’t eligible to play, but he can watch, according to Jürgen Klopp.

With Liverpool’s midfield depth looking, well, particularly thin at the moment, having Naby Keita-sized player to plug in would be quite helpful over the next three decisive games. Of course, the energy drink sponsored club were steadfastly against allowing the transfer to go through, either last summer or in January.

However, with Keita’s season in the Bundesliga over (because of suspension), he can turn his focus to his new club who just so happen to be in the Champions League final. Although Keita will not be registered as a Liverpool player until July 1st, Jürgen Klopp has extended an invitation to watch his future teammates square off against Real Madrid.

“It’s not my first problem, but I will think about it,” Klopp said, “I have not been thinking about things like this, but if Naby is reading this and he wants to come with us to the final, he is invited!

”Hopefully, Naby will have a big effect on the team immediately because of his quality.

“This was a difficult season for Naby in Germany, and for Leipzig, in general but he still had outstanding performances. Maybe not the same number as last year, but the whole Leipzig team didn’t do exactly the same as last year either.

“But one thing for Naby and us is that he doesn’t play in the World Cup so he will have a full pre-season which will help him a lot to prepare for the season with us.”

As good as Liverpool have been this season—particularly in Europe—midfield strength and depth have been areas of concern. The incoming of Keita will no doubt help Liverpool kick on in the upcoming season.

Now all the lads have to do is show they can do it without him as well.
