Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, he said: “It feels great. I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time now and I think it’s the right moment for me and my family. I’m looking forward to getting back fit and making some appearances.

“Since I got here the club has been amazing to me and treated me like family. It seems like I’ve been here my whole life, to be honest. It’s coming up to my fifth season now. I [still] remember my first training session. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to get started.”

The Liverpool Academy player has risen through the ranks at Kirkby and was a crucial player for the U23’s and U18’s in the last several seasons.

His influence and skill were shown last October, with Brewster scoring eight goals at the FIFA U17 World Cup.

Liverpool were keen to get the deal done, with other teams showing interest in the striker.

The Reds cancelled a pre-season friendly with Borussia Monchengladbach over their aggressive interest in the young player.

Jurgen Klopp is now expected to give Brewster move of an opportunity in the first-team squad, but he will not travel with the Liverpool squad on their United States tour.
