Official: Loris Karius Joins Beskitas On Loan

The club announced confirmation of a two-year loan deal that sends the unsettled goalkeeper to the Turkish giants.

Loris Karius has completed a switch to Beskitas with the European transfer window still open for outgoing English transfers. Liverpool have officially confirmed in a statement that the German keeper will remain at the Turkish club through the end of the 2019-20 season although the club have not confirmed whether a purchase option was included in the deal as had been rumoured when reports broke earlier in the week.

Further details about the loan agreement are also still yet to be revealed, however previous reporting had the Super Lig outfit paying a £2.25m loan with an optional £7.25m purchase fee at the end of the deal. A 20% sell-in clause is also believed to have been included.

The 25-year-old departs having made 49 appearances in his two seasons at Anfield, initially enduring a rocky start to life at the club before locking down the no. 1 shirt at the start of the 2018. However, despite earning plaudits with strong showings in the run-in, a disastrous, concussion-rattled showing in the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid dislodged his position at the club.

With Liverpool sealing the £65m signing of Alisson Becker shortly after, the decision was made to allow Karius to rebuild his confidence and career elsewhere rather than sitting on the bench. Best of luck to him in his endeavors.
