Alberto Moreno linked with January Barcelona move
Barcelona could be readying a January transfer move for Nacho Monreal or Alberto Moreno, according to reports today.
Jordi Alba is the only senior left-back still in the squad after Lucas Digne was sold to Everton in the summer. Youngsters Marc Cucurella and Juan Miranda are backup options to Alba but manager Ernesto Valverde wants more experienced players to fill in.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona will make their move when the transfer window reopens again, with Monreal and Moreno mooted as prime candidates for the La Liga champions. Both players are Spanish and would no doubt be eager to move back to their homeland.

Monreal was open to such a move in the summer with Real Sociedad sounding him out, but he ultimately chose to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place. Moreno has become a distant second choice behind Andy Robertson for the left-back position and looks set to remain on the bench unless something drastic changes.
Matteo Darmian of Manchester United has also been linked with a move to Barcelona. The Italian defender looked set to leave in the summer but was forced to stay by manager Jose Mourinho as injuries mounted up.
Should Moreno leave in January, Liverpool may look to dip into the market to bolster their defensive options, or consider using Nathaniel Clyne as an auxiliary left-back option for the remainder of the season.
