Jordan Henderson insists Liverpool are ready to win trophies
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has insisted that Jurgen Klopp’s side are ready to win trophies.
The Reds have not won a trophy since claiming the League Cup in 2012, despite having a number of opportunities to claim more silverware.
In terms of missed opportunities to claim some silverware, the one that stings the most in the eyes of Henderson was the capitulation towards the end of the 2013-14 season that meant Liverpool missed winning a maiden Premier League title.
With the Reds unbeaten after 16 games in the 2018-19 Premier League season, he believes the disappointment of that campaign will drive him on for the remainder of this season to lift the Premier League.
“That is something I have had to live with,” said Henderson when asked about the disappointment of the 2013-14 season, as reported by The Telegraph.

“But we are years on here, a totally different squad of players and totally different scenario.
“I don’t like to look too far back into the past. All I’m focused on is to keep winning games for this football club, as many as we can, to be successful and to end up winning trophies.”
“I feel we’re ready,” Henderson continued. “We definitely have the potential to win trophies.
“I have every confidence with the talent that we’ve got and the people in the dressing room that we can go and produce trophies in the very near future and hopefully it’s this season.”
