Marko Grujic suffers ankle injury and will be out until New Year
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan at Hertha Berlin for the 2018/19 season has suffered ligament damage in his left ankle after a strong challenge during training from teammate Vladimir Darida.
The Serbian was hailed this week by manager Pal Dardai after delivering a match-winning performance against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.
He said: “I’ve been at Hertha for 22 years. This isn’t meant as an insult to anyone else, but Marko is by far the best midfielder I’ve seen in my time at the club.”

Now, the 20-year-old has suffered a cruel setback just as things have looked to be improving after a frustrating couple of years.
Grujic said: “Of course the diagnosis was very bitter for me at first, especially because I was just on the way to becoming fully fit again.
“But today I’m looking forward again and I want to get back to the pitch as fast as possible.
“It was just an unfortunate situation, not even a foul, Vladi is not at fault at all. I just got up very badly and with the foot bent over.”
