Dejan Lovren believes tonight’s Man City result “will change nothing”

Dejan Lovren thinks Liverpool will continue to press on towards the Premier League title, regardless of whether or not they beat Manchester City tonight.

The Reds face the biggest threat yet to their unbeaten campaign run when they visit the champions at the Etihad Stadium this evening, with Pep Guardiola’s side eager to trim the gap between them and the table-toppers.

However, Lovren believes Jurgen Klopp’s men will not be discouraged from fighting for the title if they lose tonight.

“I think they said it also last year when Man City came to Anfield and they said if we win and they lose it will change something,” said Lovren, according to Sky Sports.

“I didn’t see it at the end that Man City change anything. They kept their football, they kept their style of play.

“So we will do the same. It will change nothing. Good game, bad game – the same philosophy will stay.”

City could cut the points gap to four if they win tonight, while a Liverpool victory could see the Reds move ten points clear of City and nine points beyond second-placed Tottenham.
