Rafael Camacho set for Sporting loan move

Liverpool debutant Rafael Camacho is reportedly on his way out of Anfield just after making his first senior appearance.

According to Talksport, the 18-year-old is on the verge of a switch back to his homeland of Portugal on loan.

The deal would see Camacho join Sporting on a temporary basis until June 2020, after which point his Liverpool contract expires.

Camacho joined the Liverpool Academy at the end of the 2015-16 season as an already-established Portugal U20 international after a successful trial. He featured for the U18s during the 2017-18 season, making his U23 debut during that time too.

The teenager played the full 90 minutes of Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup last night, putting in a solid performance at right-back.

Portuguese press claim that Camacho will travel to the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon this week to complete his loan move.

Sporting will reportedly have the option of buying the player at any point during his loan deal for £13.5million.
