Manchester United receive major injury boost ahead of Liverpool clash

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were both pictured in training on Wednesday and could be fit to face the Reds on Sunday while Ander Herrera is almost certain to start.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had originally claimed that Martial and Lingard would be out after suffering groin and hamstring injuries respectively during a 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

But with both back in training this week, it looks like Solskjaer could have two of his most important players back to face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Ander Herrera is nailed on to start against Liverpool after the Spaniard’s revival under Solskjaer, with the manager even saying that the midfielder is one of the first names on the team sheet.

“His energy and tenaciousness is vital for us,” Solskjaer stressed. “And that’s why he plays, more or less, every single game.

“He has loads of energy, he can cover the right hand side, he runs forward. Tonight you can’t just praise one, it’s 11 players, plus the subs, but Ander has done fantastic.”
