Liverpool frontrunners to sign Lorenzo Insigne this summer

Liverpool are the frontrunners to sign Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Italian striker has scored 76 goals in 302 appearances for the Serie A side, and has attracted attention from several top European clubs this season.

His relationship with manager Carlo Ancelotti is apparently at an all-time low after he was substituted during last week’s Europa League defeat to Arsenal.

And reports in Italy are now claiming that Napoli would be willing to listen to offers in excess of £60million for Insigne in the summer.

Liverpool will be in the market for more firepower once Daniel Sturridge departs at the end of his contract, with Divock Origi’s future also still a doubt.

Insigne, who has been capped 30 times by Italy, is contracted with Napoli until 2022, but Jurgen Klopp is reportedly eager to bring him to Anfield this summer as competition for Roberto Firmino.
