Reds scouting Fenerbahce goalkeeper ahead of potential summer move

Liverpool and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head this summer to sign 18-year-old goalkeeper Berke Ozer, according to the Mirror.

Both clubs have sent scouts to watch Ozer play for Fenerbahce as the race for his signature hots up.

The teenager was linked with a move to Manchester City before making the switch to Fenerbahce from Altinordu for €2.5million.

He has made just one senior appearance this season but plays regularly for the Turkish youth national teams.

Ozer is under contract until 2022, however, and a significant transfer bid would be required to prise him away from the club.

Liverpool could be in the market for a new backup goalkeeping option this summer with Simon Mignolet likely to leave and Loris Karius still on loan at Besiktas.
