Liverpool target will not be allowed to leave this summer

Brescia president Massimo Cellino has told Liverpool-linked Sandro Tonali that he won’t be allowed to leave the club in the summer, according to Goal.

The 18-year-old striker has attracted plenty of attention this season for his exploits in front of goal and has now made over 50 appearances for Brescia by his second season at senior level.

Cellino, however, doesn’t want him to leave.

“Tonali needs to grow, Brescia is the best place to do it,” said Cellino.

“To whom do I compare him? He reminds me of Falcao. A complete player, but a bit different.

“He has the cold blood of a killer, the smile of a child and is still 19 years old.

“He’s a nice surprise, a nice player.”

Cellino continued: “Sell him? It’s so hard to find good players that I have no intention of giving anyone up to weaken the team.

“We will be back in Serie A after so many years, repeating the errors of the past would be a mistake.”

Should Tonali signal that he wishes to leave, Liverpool will undoubtedly be one of many clubs vying for his signature.
