Van Dijk: Anything Is Possible

Virgil van Dijk believes Liverpool still have a shot at the title.

It may feel like the door has shut on the possibility of Liverpool winning the title this season, but there are still two games left, and all it will take from Manchester City is one draw and it’s back in Liverpool’s hands.

Virgil van Dijk, this season’s PFA Player of the Year, believes that anything can happen if the team buckle down and finish our their season strong.

“Anything is still possible,” van Dijk said.

“We have two games left; we’ll try everything we can to win both games – that’s the only thing we can focus on and if anything changes with Man City, it will be fantastic for us. If not, we end the season hopefully with 97 points and we did everything we could.”

It’ll be a hard pill to swallow if Liverpool rack up 97 points and only one loss and still come in second, but it’s undeniable that they’ve had an incredible season. They’re once again the position to put pressure on Manchester City when they take on Newcastle this evening. Manchester City don’t play until Monday, so maybe if the Reds win, they can work that psychological advantage.

It, uh, hasn’t worked yet, but up Brendan Rodgers and the mighty Foxes.
