Liverpool told asking price for reported target David Neres
Jurgen Klopp has been told how much he’ll need to spend if he wants to land Ajax forward David Neres this summer, according to journalist Marcel van der Kraan via Sky Sports Transfer Talk.
The Dutch side are under threat of being picked apart this summer after enjoying an eye-catching run in the Champions League, with a number of their top stars attracting interest from across Europe.
And Liverpool are no exception, with links to Matthjis de Ligt, Donny van de Beek and Memphis Depay ongoing.

However, one player the Reds are unlikely to sign is David Neres, despite long-standing links with the player.
According to van der Kraan: “Ajax has already received a Chinese offer of £50million for Neres.
“That bid was immediately swept off the table by Marc Overmars. Neres is still very young and having a good time at Ajax. This summer might not be the right time to sell him.
“Ajax previously rejected a bid of £50m and now hopes for a transfer fee of £80-£90m. This is also because Overmars made it clear that it is impossible to perform well in the Champions League again when half the team is sold.”
The price tag is likely to deter Liverpool, whose priority this summer will be a left-back and deputy goalkeeper to replace Alberto Moreno and Simon Mignolet respectively.
Daniel Sturridge’s absence, however, could force Klopp to pursue an attacking alternative before the window closes in August.
