Sadio Mane highlights how he improved in the 2018/19 season

Sadio Mane believes he still has room for improvement despite helping Liverpool to their sixth Champions League final victory earlier this month, according to the Evening Standard.

Mane played a key role in Madrid triumph, winning the Reds a penalty within the opening 25 seconds of the game, which Mohamed Salah went on to score.

The Senegalese also shared the Golden Boot with Salah after a fantastic Premier League title push that saw Jurgen Klopp’s side amass 97 points over the course of the season.

The 27-year-old isn’t taking anything for granted, however.

“To be honest, I think I improved a lot in my finishing,” he said.

“It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development. I will try to work harder and harder to get better and better.

“We have a great, great team. The future can be exciting, for sure. We’ll try to do everything to create something special.”

The Reds No.10 also praised Liverpool’s supporters for their impact on the campaign, saying: “They played a big part in the season.

“[There were] very difficult games at home and they were always here. Keep on going because we need you! It’s very important.

“It makes the club special and it’s really important. Sometimes it can be a bad day and if the fans give you more motivation, it’s positive for the team and for them as well.”
