Liverpool Internationals: Mohamed Salah Scores A Scorching Free Kick For Egypt

Egypt went on to defeat Uganda 2-0 in the African Cup Of Nations

There’s been PLENTY of football this summer, and while there hasn’t been much Liverpool to support in the Women’s World Cup, there’s been plenty others in the myriad of other international competitions happening this summer.

Egypt, in particular, have been benefitting from a fully fit and hungry Mohamed Salah during the African Cup Of Nations. The Pharaohs have most recently beaten Uganda to go top of their group in the tournament, started off by a gorgeous free kick by Salah himself.

At first glance, it would seem that Salah has enacted the new lesson he’s learned while at Liverpool - to take set pieces quickly while teams aren’t exactly paying attention. Salah simply rocketed that thing into the back of the net to open the scoring for Egypt, who would go on to win 2-0 and advance into the Round of 16 for the competition. Egypt have a perfect record through the group stages and have yet to concede a goal, and Salah had also previously scored in the match against Congo.

Salah is pretty clearly riding high after the Champions League win and happy to take that revenge for last year’s world cup out on the AFCON at the moment. All the better for us!
