Mark Goldbridge's combined Manchester United and Liverpool XI
Mark Goldbridge’s combined Manchester United and Liverpool XI included four United players and it’s safe to say he’s got it all wrong.
Liverpool arrive at Old Trafford this weekend on the back of 17 consecutive Premier League wins and have the chance to equal Manchester City’s record of 18 wins in a row.
They also top this season’s table, having won 24 points from eight games while City sit on just 16 after losing two games against Norwich City and Wolves.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports’ Danny Mills named a combined Manchester United and Liverpool XI that was essentially just the Reds’ starting lineup and Goldbridge has not taken it well.
The United Stand presenter named David De Gea over Alisson, Harry Maguire over Joel Matip, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Paul Pogba over Jordan Henderson in one of the hottest takes this week.
The only player he has included that comes close to making that side is Wan-Bissaka as the former Crystal Palace has actually been very good this season and even then, Alexander-Arnold has been sublime.
Even though Alisson has been injured since the first day of the season, he’s been the best goalkeeper in Europe for the last 18 months.
The less said about Pogba the better in all honesty.
