Jason McAteer urges Jurgen Klopp to sign N'Golo Kante

Former Liverpool star Jason McAteer has surprisingly urged Jurgen Klopp to sign Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante despite Fabinho’s influence at Anfield.

“Kante is definitely one of the final pieces in Jurgen Klopp’s jigsaw,” he told Racing Post (via The Daily Mail).

While the diminutive Frenchman would be superb under Klopp’s tutelage, with the way that Fabinho has made the no.6 role at Anfield his own, there isn’t really any space for Kante at Liverpool.

Since the Reds paid AS Monaco £43million for our Brazilian destroyer, they have gone up another level which is in part due to the arrival of Alisson Becker from AS Roma but that’s not to dimish Fabinho’s impact.

Liverpool have a squad that is jam-packed with top-class players as evidenced by their continuous ability to win games despite the odds being stacked heavily against them as was evidenced at Villa Park on Saturday night.

The newly-promoted side led by Dean Smith was 1-0 up against Liverpool until the 87th minute when Andy Robertson scored the equaliser before Sadio Mane scored a dramatic winner in the 94th minute.

His heroics have set the stage for an exciting clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
