Arsenal legend suggests Liverpool midfielder has failed at Anfield

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has suggested that Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has failed during his time at Anfield thus far.

Liverpool bought the midfielder from RB Leipzig for £52 million in the summer of 2017, however, he joined the club a year later.

Injuries have impacted the form of Keita, as he has not been able to get any continuity in his game.

With that being the case, comments such as Parlour’s are becoming more common about the Guinea international.

Parlour believes that from all the signings Jurgen Klopp has made during his time at Liverpool, Keita is the only one who has not worked out for him.

“The only one who probably hasn’t really worked out for him as he’d like has been Keita,” Parlour said, as quoted by HITC.

“He bought him for £52million, but he hasn’t been the player they bought in.

“He’s not improved as much as probably he would have liked – he’s had his injury problems. Half of these players he’s brought in have been absolutely different class.”
