Jose Mourinho identifies where Liverpool stand in terms of the world rankings

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho believes Liverpool are the best team in the world as of right now.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the past six months.

Liverpool could also add the Premier League title to that collection if they continue their current form until May. The Reds are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a game in hand.

Mourinho believes Liverpool’s recent success has stemmed from the patience Klopp was given at the beginning of his tenure, which he states in the video below, produced by the Liverpool Echo.

It is difficult to disagree with Mourinho. Right now, Liverpool are the side that everyone in world football fears.

Winning the Premier League title would just further increase those levels of fear. The success simply stems from the changes that Klopp has made. Without him, Liverpool would arguably still be an average side.
