Rumour has it The Blades believe they can get a deal done for Rhian Brewster before the transfer window slams shut.

From the chance to earn a key first team role heading into pre-season to question marks surrounding his future as the campaign kicked off to a feeling that a departure was certain, the story of Rhian Brewster at Anfield has changed massively over the past month.

Even now that he looks certain to depart on a permanent deal the story continues to change, as past reports that a move to Crystal Palace was all but done have this week been replaced by renewed talk of him ending up at Sheffield United on a permanent deal.

And for now, at least, Sheffield do appear to be the destination. Multiple reports over the past couple of days have set out Chris Wilder’s Blades as favourites, with the local Sheffield Star saying that the club are hopeful of getting a deal done before Monday’s deadline.

Accordingly, Brewster is now said to favour Sheffield due to the promise of an instant first team role for last season’s Cinderella story—and maybe even starting minutes from day one for a side that has struggled to convert their chances in the early going this season.

For their part, Liverpool continue to hold out for a fee in the region of £20M for the player and would insist on a buyback clause for the highly rated 20-year-old striker, believing there is enough interest in the player to ensure that some club will meet their valuation.
