The Brazilian goalkeeper heaped praise on the new regime in an interview with the BBC.

It’s still early days in the Arne Slot regime, but all signs point to him being a smart hire to replace legendary manager, Jurgen Klopp. In fact, Slot became the first Liverpool manager since Bill Shankly to win 6 of his first 7 matches in charge of the Reds.

The players also seem to be warming to the new gaffer, including goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

“We were great before but Arne is bringing to us a new energy and knowledge. He is a really smart manager and he is helping us a lot. You can see from how we are playing now,” Alisson said in an interview with the BBC program Football Focus.

“We are committed to the plan and can see it is a good plan. We still have a lot to improve but we are in the right direction. We have a big gap to reach for our best but we are doing well so far.

“When we changed [coach], not everything was going wrong. The challenge for us was to keep the good things, pass these things to the staff and the players coming in, and embrace the good stuff that the new staff are bringing.”

Although no one wanted to see Klopp leave the club, there is also something to be said about freshening things up after nearly 9 years of hearing the same messages from Klopp.

It helps that Slot has a great squad to work with, but he has done well with what he has so far. Hopefully his early success is a preview for more success to come from the Dutch manager. Because as the last guy said, it’s not what they think of you when you come that’s important, but what they think when you leave.
