Liverpool 2, Tottenham 2: Man of the Match
With a ludicrous ending and less than satisfying result in the books, we want you to choose your man of the match.
Lots to be said about that match, but ultimately, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur come away with a point each. The hosts got off to a great start in the third minute, capitalizing on an error by Spurs to go ahead courtesy of Mohamed Salah. The Reds had their chances in the first half but couldn’t capitalize further, and not unexpectedly Spurs equalized in the second half courtesy of a Wanyama screamer.
In the final phases of the match, we saw two penalties awarded to Spurs, neither a clear cut decision, one of which was saved by Karius, and a breathtaking goal from Salah that looked to have won the match. Alas, the officials would have the final say in this contest.
Now let us know how you saw it. Hitting the thumbs up button is a vote to move the player up the list—or to help keep them on top. Hitting thumbs down is a vote to push that player closer to the bottom. It’s half man of the match poll and half power ranking, and we want to use it to find out who you think played well after each Liverpool match and, at the other end, who you’d maybe like to see given the next game off.
At the end of the month we’ll go through the results of the month’s polls and vote The Liverpool Offside’s player of the month and, come next May, those monthly results will help to determine your TLO player of the season for 2017-18. Those visiting on Google AMP who wish to vote will have to navigate to the front page and re-enter the story to access the non-AMP version of it.
