Mohamed Salah Is A Charitable King

The exciting winger continues giving back to his homeland of Egypt.

For those of you, like myself, who made the mistake of ordering a Philippe Coutinho Liverpool kit this summer, and are still considering what to do with the £50 voucher from Liverpool football club, I may have a suggestion.

That suggestion? Replacing a snake with a king.

Mohamed Salah, nicknamed the King of Egypt by some Liverpool supporters, has wowed us since Day 1 with his exciting brand of football. Oh, and it helps that he can’t stop scoring goals for fun. Salah’s 19 league goals puts him second only Harry Kane’s 21.

But there’s another reason: it appears that Salah is a genuinely nice guy. The latest story of his charity comes from the player seeing a boy, Mohamed Abdel Karim from Luxor on Arabic TV channel ONsport. Karim was wearing a sweater with “M. Salah #10” on the back. The Liverpool player contacted the television presenter, and asked them to send along a brand-new 2017/18 Liverpool home kit, of course, with “M. Salah #11” on it.

This act of charity is not uncommon for Salah. The current mayor of Salah’s home town in Egypt, Maher Shetia, glowed about Salah’s continuing contribution to the community.

“Salah highlighted his small village on the international map,” Shetia explained, “He also built a charity and will build a school that costs millions.

“This is in addition to his donations to Basioun hospital with a complete ventilation room, incubations and an ambulance unit.”

I think I just might need a Salah kit of my own, now.
