Liverpool Desperate To Keep Rhian Brewster at the Club

The young player has had his head turned to Germany.

The young Rhian Brewster is an impressive player who has earned respect both on and off the pitch. On the pitch, he’s earned it through his incredible performances and buckets of goals scored. Off the pitch, he’s earned it through his professionalism and his brave decision to speak openly about the disgusting racism that he’s faced while playing the game.

It’s no surprise that Klopp and the club want to keep the 18-year-old at the club for years to come. Unfortunately, Brewster has repeatedly turned down offers to commit himself to the club with a professional contract, and now that ECHO are reporting that he and his representatives are looking abroad to Germany as the possible next step for his career.

Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig have both registered their interest for the player, though since he’s in the third year of his Academy scholarship, speaking to his would lead to charges of tapping-up the youngster.

Despite the unfortunate ankle injury that caused Brewster’s season to be cut short, Klopp is still very keen on the player and has made it clear that if he stays, he’d be involved in the first team next season. Given Klopp’s willingness to utilize his youth players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold in the past, the fact that Liverpool will once again be competing in Europe next season, and Brewster’s obvious inherent talent, there should be space available for him to get some first team experience on the pitch.

Liverpool are building something special with Klopp, and Rhian Brewster is a special player. It would be a shame if Liverpool failed to secure his services long term. That will be another interesting development it watch as the summer transfer window kicks into full gear in the coming few days.
