Bury vs. Liverpool Preview and Matchday: Game Time, TV Listings, and How to Watch Online

Liverpool continue their preseason against Bury on Saturday.

BURY VS LIVERPOOL

| Saturday, July 14th |
Pre-Season | Gigg Lane
3:00PM BST/10:00AM EST

Liverpool play their third game of the 2018 pre-season and while new signing Xherdan Shaqiri won’t be involved, there’s a good chance Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum will be available to make their first appearances, and Joël Matip is also hopeful of featuring.

It will also be another chance to see how Naby Keïta and Fabinho are adjusting to life at Anfield, with Fabinho in particular impressing in his first two 45-minute outings for the club.

As for their opponents, after playing two local clubs—Chester and Tranmere—in their first two pre-season games, Liverpool stick to the theme against Bury, located in Greater Manchester. It’s a step up in class, though, as Bury are the first league side Liverpool will face, from League Two—otherwise known as England’s fourth division, below the Premier League, Championship, and League One.

Bury have 133 years of their own history, and despite their relatively small stature they have never fallen into the non-league levels of the football pyramid first since joining it in 1894. They won the FA Cup twice in their early years, in 1900 and 1903, and up until World War Two they were regularly seen in the top division.
