Daniel Sturridge sees his future at Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge believes he has a future at Liverpool Football Club despite being linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Sturridge hasn’t quite been able to produce the performances of the 2013-14 season for some time, which saw him score a total of 25 goals in all competitions.

The Englishman has returned to Liverpool after he moved to West Bromwich Albion on loan in the January transfer window.

Despite many believing his future is not on Merseyside, Sturridge has a different outlook.

“I see myself staying at Liverpool, hopefully being part of the team week in, week out,” said Sturridge, as quoted by The Mirror.

“Pre-season is going well, so for me it’s keeping my head down and building on that. I’m excited about the season ahead and it feels great to be back.”

Sturridge scored two goals in Liverpool’s first pre-season clash against Chester, and will be looking to have an impact for the remainder of the pre-season.

“Pre-season has started well for me and the team,” said Sturridge. “I am feeling great and can’t wait to get the season under way.

“We have the tour to come where we face some great teams like Man United, Man City and Dortmund.”
