Jurgen Klopp gives his thoughts on Naby Keita and Daniel Sturridge post Blackburn Rovers

Jurgen Klopp is pleased with what he is seeing from both Naby Keita and Daniel Sturridge in the early parts of pre-season.

Both were instrumental in the Reds claiming a 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers last night, and Klopp was quick to praise the both of them.

Keita, who has come in this summer for a fee of £52.75million, showed his quality at Ewood Park.

“Good player, huh?” said Klopp, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo. “He has an eye for a pass, that is true.

“In pre-season until now, he looks very natural in the position. It’s good, but we have to still work on it. It’s all good so far.

“Fabinho played his best game since he’s been here. They all need time to settle, and he needs that as well. Tonight, he looked much more natural with him in that position.”

Sturridge scored Liverpool’s second for the night, and Klopp believes he is looking as sharp as ever.

“Absolutely. That’s really good for us,” said Klopp when asked about Sturridge looking sharp.

“Giving him the armband was completely normal, in the second half he was the guy who had been longest at the club and most experienced.

“He missed a chance which we all know 99 times out of 100 he would score from. He played a really good game, the link-up play, especially with Naby, was brilliant.”

Liverpool now move onto their tour of the United States and fly out in the early hours of Saturday morning to participate in the International Champions Cup.
