World Cup 2018: Round of 16 Day Three and How to Watch Brazil vs. Mexico
Brazil—with Roberto Firmino likely on the bench—take on Mexico in the day’s headlining match.
WORLD CUP 2018 | ROUND OF 16
Brazil vs. Mexico | 3PM BST/10AM EST
Belgium vs. Japan | 7PM BST/2PM EST
Today, the Round of 16 brings us one of the biggest matches of the tournament as a Brazil side that was a pre-tournament favourite for many takes on a Mexico side that impressing in the group stage. The Liverpool rooting interest is obvious—Brazil striker Roberto Firmino—but despite that they have looked consistently better when he’s played, manager Tite is expected to persist with starting Gabriel Jesus up top. Still, as he often has of late, the Liverpool man could play a key role off the bench.
The second match of the day then sees Belgium taking on Japan, and as good a story as Japan are for getting to this point, if Belgium are dark horse contenders to win the entire tournament they really need to dispatch them with ease here.
