Liverpool linked with €35m move for Benjamin Pavard

Liverpool are lining up a move for France international Benjamin Pavard, according to a report in the Mirror.

Pavard was part of the France squad that won the World Cup this summer, scoring an unforgettable wonder-goal against Argentina from outside the box.

His quality performances in the summer tournament have followed on from similar displays in the Bundesliga, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has apparently taken notice.

KickOff quote reports suggesting that Pavard will be a €35million target for Liverpool next summer should Stuttgart fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The 22-year-old defender is comfortable at right-back or centre-half, and would certainly add fresh quality to Liverpool’s already-improved defence.

It remains to be seen whether these links will be verified over the coming months, but few could argue that Liverpool now possess the pulling power to draw in the biggest names in world football, should Klopp want them.
