Liverpool swiftly reject Grujic loan offer

Liverpool have swiftly turned down a loan offer for midfielder Marko Grujic from Serie A side Torino, according to Glenn Price of ESPNFC.

Grujic, whose prospects of first-team football at Anfield this season are limited, was tipped to rejoin Cardiff on loan but turned down the Bluebirds, as well Championship outfit Middlesbrough, and resolved to fight for his place.

Torino, a recent pre-season opponent, have since emerged as one of the interested parties and, Price claims, made an offer to take the 22-year-old on a temporary basis.

Crucially, though, they requested a later option to buy Grujic for less than £9million.

The Reds, who signed the Serbian for £5million back in 2016, did not entertain the approach.

CSKA Moscow, who can offer Grujic significant game-time in the Champions League, are also said to be interested.

Liverpool would like to tie him down to a new contract if indeed they choose to loan him out.
