Jurgen Klopp wants his side to be the ‘ugliest’ team for opponents to play

Jurgen Klopp has made it no secret that he wants his side to become the “ugliest team” for opposition sides to face in the Premier League.

Liverpool have won all six competitive games they have played thus far in the new season, but are yet to play at their absolute best. A resilient defence has allowed the Reds to grind out wins that perhaps were not possible last season, which Klopp is delighted about.

“We really want to be the ugliest team to play against,” said Klopp, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“That is the plan, and to do it with good football players. The best news I have had in the last two weeks is how we have changed or reinvented again our defensive skills.

“We didn’t need them too much in the first few games – it was not that we didn’t have to defend but they were different games.

“Against Tottenham and Paris I loved how we did it. We still played good football and that was a really big step in the season so far.”
