Aldridge believes Xherdan Shaqiri can be a “massive” player this season
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge thinks Xherdan Shaqiri’s form has never dropped below 8 out of 10 of late, and believes the creative attacker will go on to be a “massive player” for the Reds this season.
Shaqiri scored a well-taken goal against Cardiff on Saturday, which came on the back of a superb performance against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, as well as getting an assist against Huddersfield.
Aldridge has been impressed with the Swiss international so far and thinks there’ll be plenty more to come from Shaqiri under Klopp’s management.

“When Shaqiri came on against Cardiff City the game changed and we became unpredictable,” said Aldridge, as quoted on LiverpoolFC.com.
“They seemed to have us boxed off before he came on but then his ingenuity, his experience, his movement and excellent passing changed everything. And what a goal too.
“The Swiss winger has put himself in a really good position, when he’s played over the last few games he hasn’t dropped below an eight out of 10. He’s been absolutely excellent.
“Jürgen seems to have found a role for him to link the midfield and the attack, it’s what Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was doing brilliantly before his injury.
“Shaqiri could be a massive player for us this season and his quality is great to watch.”
Liverpool next take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday at 5:30pm.
