Jurgen Klopp likes watching Alisson and Adrian train

Jurgen Klopp admits that although he enjoys watching them, he has no idea what Alisson and Adrian do in training sessions at Melwood.

The goalkeepers train away from the main group most of the time as they work on such specialist situations that it makes little sense to work with the outfielders most of the time.

While it’s disappointing that one has to be sacrificed for the other, there is no debate over who is the better goalkeeper between Alisson and Adrian even if the latter performed brilliantly in the first 10 games of the season.

Alisson has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or after his sensational displays during the 2018/19 season which saw him win the Golden Glove in the Premier League, Champions League and Copa America.

“It was always clear when Ali was fit he would play,” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.

“Adrian took it calmly, they have been good for each other in training, the spirit in that goalkeeper training group is really strong. I like watching them, I have no clue what they do but I like watching them.”

Liverpool face Spurs on Sunday and Alisson will be hoping to keep his first clean sheet of the league season after conceding against Manchester United.
