Graeme Souness: I’d take Eden Hazard over Mohamed Salah
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness says he’d take Eden Hazard over Mohamed Salah, according to the Mirror.
Souness is understandably thrilled with how Salah has retaken the Premier League by storm since his arrival on Merseyside in 2017, frequently praising the Egyptian during his televised punditry.
The Reds’ No.11 has scored 13 times so far this campaign and notched 5 assists in all competitions, scoring a hat-trick against Bournemouth to send Liverpool top of the Premier League at the weekend before bagging the goal that sent Jurgen Klopp’s side into the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

However, in spite of Salah’s heroics in a red shirt, Souness doesn’t believe he’s currently the best player in the Premier League.
“If I could take one it would be Eden Hazard,” Souness said.
“I think Salah will be a better goalscorer but in terms of all-round play (Hazard).”
Souness thinks Salah still has a long way to go before he can be categorised as a Liverpool legend, though he could be well on his way in a few seasons if he sticks around at Anfield.
“He [Salah] is fabulous but it’s only his second year,” Souness explained. “Come back in five years. When you talk about those Liverpool greats, they had players who won everything.
“Some great team men, great goalscorers, longevity. This is only Salah’s second season but I do believe he has the potential to be in that category.”
