Jose Mourinho must bench Pogba against Liverpool, says Craig Bellamy

Craig Bellamy believes that Jose Mourinho should bench Paul Pogba for this week’s Premier League test against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Frenchman missed an absolute sitter against Valencia. The 25-year-old scuff his shot when he was just yards out and the miss really sums up his lack of confidence.

Since moving to Manchester United in 2016, Pogba has really failed to cement his place as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League when there is no doubt he is one of the most talented footballers in England.

Speaking after United’s 2-1 defeat to Valencia, Craig Bellamy told Sky Sports: “Pogba was poor again tonight.

“Mourinho isn’t getting the best out of Pogba, that’s clear. There is a lack of interest from Pogba. His performance in Valencia was concerning.  I’m not sure if he is as good as a lot of people make out.

“There’s a massive game on Sunday, Liverpool versus Manchester United is the biggest game in the Premier League between the teams who have won the most trophies, an incredible fixture.

“If you’re Mourinho, after Pogba’s performance today, it will be very difficult to say he has to play, he has to leave him out again.”
