Sadio Mane shows hunger to win once again
Sadio Mane was desperate for his Liverpool teammates to get back to the half-way line on Sunday to score the winner against Manchester United.
The Senegal attacker’s influence was stifled by Ole Gunnar Slskjaer’s tactics but when Lallana hit the back of the net and ran to the corner flag to celebrate, the former Southampton forward was quick to remind his Liverpool teammates they had yet to score a winner.
He was physically dragging them back as there were still five minutes of regulation time remaining.
Liverpool were unjustly 1-0 down in the first half as Marcus Rashford’s goal should not have stood after Divock Origi was fouled in United’s half.
Sadio Mane then had a goal disallowed after the ball struck his hand in the box – a rule which needs changing after a number of goals were unfairly disallowed this season.
The Reds are still six points ahead of Manchester City which is still a very healthy lead despite opposition fans suggesting that the cracks are beginning to show for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has incredibly won 25 points from a possible total of 27 this season.
