Jurgen Klopp: Mohamed Salah is ‘one of the best in the world’

Liverpool won 4-0 against Bournemouth on Saturday to go top of the Premier League and the undisputed Man of the Match was Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian scoring a hattrick to seal the points.

Despite suggestions at the start of the season that the former Chelsea winger is a one season wonder, Salah is now the Premier League’s joint top goalscorer (10) alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

After scoring 32 goals in the league last season, it was always going to be a massive mountain to climb to replicate his unbelievable form but heading into the crucial festive period, there is every chance he could start the New Year as the leading goalscorer in the Premier League.

On Salah’s hattrick goal, Klopp said: “How often do we get a situation like that and the guy who gets the ball thinks, “Oh, free goal” and we are still looking for the ball? So he made that look really composed.

“Goals two and three. I don’t know who would have scored these goals. That was outstanding.

Howe couldn’t help but agree. ‘He’s one of the best players in the world.”
