Shaqiri Expected To Start Against Everton

Looking for a midfield spark, Klopp looks to start the PowerCube

Liverpool guru James Pearce wrote in the Liverpool Echo yesterday that he expects that Jurgen Klopp will return Xherdan Shaqiri to the starting lineup following a lack of creativity in the 2-1 loss in Paris midweek.

The Swiss international arrived in the summer following a disappointing spell at Stoke City. He has been a bright spot so far this season, and will look to have a good game against rivals Everton. His return to the lineup will likely mean the return of the 4-2-3-1 formation, as well.

“That’s something you do always, when the new boys are in they are so much better than all the others,” Klopp said. “I don’t get the word ‘relish’ actually, but yes I think he will enjoy it a lot and he will be ready for it as well. We have to see how we play and which line up we will choose.”

Jurgen Klopp was visibly upset in his press conference on Friday when he was asked about the midfield on Wednesday night. It was a fair question to ask of the Liverpool boss, but also understandable how he would be annoyed with it. If there are questions to be asked of this Liverpool side so far this season, it is of the middle of the park.

Klopp and Liverpool will look to continue their undefeated run in the league as they take on an improved Everton side.
