Jurgen Klopp celebrates December Manager of the Month award
Jurgen Klopp was named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for the month of December after his side won seven games from seven in a perfect festive fixture run.
The Reds went into the New Year with a seven point lead over Manchester City and while that was reduced to four when the champions beat Liverpool at the Etihad on the 3rd of January, there is no doubt Klopp is doing a fantastic job with the Anfield outfit.
With Liverpool’s defensive record this season the best in the division, there is evidence to suggest that the defeat to City won’t derail the Reds’ title challenge the way it might have a couple seasons ago when there were more obvious frailties in the side.

“It’s nice, the icing on the cake,” said Klopp, whose first award came in September 2016. “It was a very successful but difficult month.
“Each game felt like the most important one of the season. It was unbelievable. The intensity was massive but that’s what made it a special month.
“With the group I have here, if you can mix up the potential of the group with the best attitude you can get, you get quality. That’s what we did in December.”
