Liverpool reportedly target James Tarkowski on loan
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Burnley’s James Tarkowski on loan as their defensive injury crisis worsens.
Dejan Lovren limped off early in Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Wolves on Monday night, joining Joe Gomez and Joel Matip on the Reds’ list of injured centre-backs.
16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever came on to replace Lovren and put in an assured performance alongside Fabinho in the heart of defence, but according to the Daily Mail, Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bring in more experienced cover for his usual defensive options.

Tarkowksi has been identified as a potential solution, with the Reds aiming to strike a loan deal with Burnley for the defender.
However, the Clarets value Tarkowski at £50million, which would make any loan move problematic.
Klopp recently insisted that he will not panic-buy any players this month to fill in for his injured squad members, but with Virgil van Dijk the only fit centre-back option currently available, the manager may have to rethink his stance in the days to come.
