Liverpool are ‘definitely’ interested in technical midfielder worth £35million

Italian football expert David Amoyal says that Liverpool are ‘definitely’ one of the sides interested in Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, who has been compared to Andrea Pirlo.

The Reds haven’t made any first team transfers this month and won’t be conducting any deadline day deals either but with the summer not that far off, sporting director Michael Edwards is no doubt working his socks off to provide Jurgen Klopp with nothing but the best.

With his shaggy mane of dark brown hair and his obvious technical qualities and the fact that he is from the same town, Tonali has been compared to Italy legend Andrea Pirlo and Brescia owner Massimo Cellino reportedly wants £35million for the youngster.

“He plays for Brescia, which is Pirlo’s hometown,” Amoyal explained.

“There’s many clubs interested in Tonali. There’s multiple clubs in the Premier League, Liverpool’s definitely one of them.

“Brescia’s president Cellino is asking for a huge return for him.

“As it stands Juventus and Inter are still the favourites, but definitely Liverpool are in the mix.

“How concrete their interest, and how close they are now remains to be seen.”
