Jürgen Klopp and the Calm Rebuke of Kyle Walker’s Trolling

The Liverpool manager isn’t making any time for social media trolling from a professional football player.

After Liverpool’s unfortunate draw with Leicester City there was a certain delight felt by those that wish Jürgen Klopp’s side wouldn’t win the Premier League this season. The Reds had the chance to pull ahead of Manchester City by 7 points but it was a frustrating night at Anfield and both teams left with a point.

Among the revelers was City’s indomitable right back Kyle Walker who took time out of his busy schedule wearing cool sunglasses to have some fun at Liverpool's expense after the match. A since deleted tweet from Walker included that picture of Harry Maguire talking to some women after an England match with the caption, “So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead.”

Funny, but a touch out of order from a player in the league and Jürgen Klopp, speaking at his pre-West Ham presser, expressed his disbelief that any player would even be fain to troll an opposing team.

“I never celebrated when another team dropped points or lost a game,” said Klopp. “For me, that’s not allowed.

“You have to do your own things. You have to work it out, to show your best performance.

“I don’t understand it. For supporters, it’s a little bit different. For people involved, I don’t understand it.”

It’s a strange one from Walker since the England full-back was so influential in his side coming up second best when City lost to Newcastle on Tuesday. The tweet was quickly deleted and I’m a sucker for a bit of footballers drama but it’s best to rebuke this behavior from professionals and it’s great to hear Klopp put that message out.
