Virgil van Dijk named PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for February

Virgil van Dijk has been named PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for his performances during the month of February.

The Dutchman has been incredible for Liverpool this season and his displays at the back have been influential in the Reds mounting a title challenge this season.

During February, the no.4 helped his side keep three clean sheets and scored two goals in a 5-0 demolition of Watford at Anfield.

Van Dijk beat Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling, Burnley’s Ashley Barnes and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to the accolade.

The Dutchman won the award in November but such has been his form this season that he has been awarded again.

If Liverpool are to win the league this season, van Dijk will need to maintain his form for the next few months and ensure that more clean sheets are kept.
