Oxlade-Chamberlain plays in friendly as comeback moves closer
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has continued his progress towards a return for the Liverpool first team by playing in a behind closed doors friendly at Melwood, according to the Echo.
The attacking midfielder played an hour of the match against Bury before being substituted, making it his longest spell on the pitch since picking up a serious knee injury last season.
The 25-year-old left the field during Liverpool’s semifinal first leg against Roma last April and has not featured competitively for the Reds since.

However, he’s made great strides in his recovery of late and may still play for Jurgen Klopp’s side before the season concludes.
His manager has promised, however, to take things with Oxlade-Chamberlain very slowly to avoid a recurrence of his injury.
Joe Gomez was also set to play in the Bury friendly but was withdrawn after Alberto Moreno was ruled out of the Porto game on Tuesday.
It was the first time Gomez had been named among Liverpool’s substitute’s since December.
