Liverpool midfielder set to sign new long-term deal

Sheyi Ojo is on the verge of signing a new deal with Liverpool, according to The Telegraph.

The midfielder will then be loaned out again next season in order to gain more first-time experience, with Jurgen Klopp hoping to see his development continue.

This season hasn’t been great for Ojo, however. He has spent the season on loan with Stade de Reims in Ligue 1 and has made just 15 appearances, scoring no goals and registering no assists along the way.

His spell on loan with Fulham last season was more productive – he bagged four goals in 22 appearances, helping the club return to the top flight, albeit briefly.

The Telegraph claim Steven Gerrard is hoping to bring Ojo to Ibrox on loan, where he’s likely to get more game time and mentorship under the former Liverpool captain.
