Reds could hijack Watford deal for Brazilian forward Joao Pedro

Liverpool have made contact about a potential transfer move for Fluminense attacker Joao Pedro, according to reports.

Watford have already agreed a £2million deal for the 17-year-old, who is expected to make the switch to the Premier League in January next year.

However, Liverpool scout Dassler Marques watched Pedro play on Thursday night ahead of a potential hijack move.

The forward scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Atletico Nacional to reach seven goals in ten appearances for his side.

A clause in Pedro’s contract with Watford, however, dictates that any Premier League club who move for him would need to pay the Hornets £20million, meaning he could become an expensive purchase for the Reds.

It remains to be seen whether any Anfield transfer for Pedro will materialise this summer.
